Experience behind the innovation

Paul-André Bouchard, eng.

The inventor of the TopTent™, Paul-André Bouchard, is a mechanical engineer who has worked in industrial design since 1975, and specialized in stage machinery since 1994. In those fields he holds six patents, including that for the Spiralift 6, an ultra-compact stage-lifting device well-known by the performance arts' technical staff.

He has taken part in several projects, including the design of the overhead cableway for Cirque du Soleil's Quidam show and the Hale Center Theatre in Salt Lake City, Utah, an innovative multi-purpose hall that transforms automatically from a high quality theater venue into an exhibition hall in 10 minutes. It was while working on a project that he met Luc Plamondon, a seasoned theater consultant, with whom he eventually joined forces to launch Parabris and develop the TopTent™.

Luc Plamondon

Luc Plamondon brought with him to the company his vast experience in theater design and production. Before joining Parabris, he spent six years as V-P Production for the Cirque du Soleil, in charge of technical services, new productions, set design, props & costumes shops, tour infrastructures as well as theater architecture for such acclaimed venues as the KÀ Theater at MGM Grand Casino, the Zumanity Theater at New York, New York Casino and the Beatles Theater at the Mirage in Las Vegas. He's also the co-founder of TRIZART, a production firm, and has acted as theater consultant for world-class projects such as the Théâtre Capitol in Quebec City, the Montreal Bell Center and the Teatro Dell'Angolo in Turin, Italy. Prior to that, he spent 10 years as tour manager on over 30 shows and special events.
